Day in the life of a BMX Boy!!

It's so funny how kids try something new and either hate it or fall in love with it. That has been the case for Zade with BMX, he has only practiced a few time however, it is his new sport and he is hooked...which as a parent means we are now in charge of getting him the gear, getting to downtown dayton to the indoor track, which is fine that is what we do as parents and it is always nice to see your kids trying something new! Yesterday it was 61 degrees so we took him out to the Brookville track so that he could practice and I could get some pictures. The indoor practice arena downtown is somewhere I would never take my camera it is a huge dust bowl, so I look forward to spring so that I can get some great shots of him. Have a great day and enjoy my little BMX Boy!

My Thankful Blessed Heart

Today, as always I am thankful for so much this life has blessed me and my family with. I hear of hard times every day and struggles over sickness, struggles over family issues and struggles over money. I think we all need to recap on the importance of roofs over our heads, food in our belly, our health and most importantly focus on the Human Spirit and what we can do for one another.  I think about what I want my children to learn from me the most and of course if you know me I always say empathy but I also want them to have a giving heart and always help those who are less fortunate. So today as we sit with family enjoying all the beautiful food my heart is with all of those who our feeling empty today and not blessed by this world....May you find the strength to push forward and know that you are loved.

Greenville Christmas Parade

Last night we ventured out to downtown Greenville to the light up carriage parade, it was breathtaking and if you have never been make sure to check it out next year. It was crowded beyond belief and I heard people set their chairs out 3 hours early however, we showed up an hour before and found a place to stand and see the parade first hand. I took my camera (of course) and really thought I could capture our Christmas card while I was there but it didn't work out at all. :-~ So I am back to square one and hopefully we will get some snow and I can capture the original picture I had in mind. Have a great night all. Here are some pictures of the beautiful horses and my cold kids!

THE TREE IS UP!!!

I thought I was a little crazy however, I have heard more and more people say they also put their Christmas tree up so I am back to feeling semi normal :-) I just can't help myself I love everything about the Holidays....the human spirit, the lights, the giving, the sharing, the smells, the music, the shopping, the wrapping, the food, the excitement from my kiddos. There is nothing like the spirit of Christmas that is why I love this song from my Holiday favorite "Christmas Vacation"!

Poor Guy... thinks he is going to get tutored!

Today is the day, the day that our lovely little Cooper is going to get neutered. He is such a sweet little cat I guess he just knows even though this crazy little girl dresses him up and puts him in baby carriers and infant swings and strollers, she is that same kid that cried for an hour and talked those adults into keeping him so he just goes along with anything and accepts the fact that he is my daughters "baby doll".

He was thrown out of a car in the park in front of us last year, he couldn't have been more than 6 weeks however, my husband had always said NO CATS!! So needless to say my daughter cried from Lewisburg to Brookville and on the way home my husband said, " if he is still at the park we will keep him". Well of course that poor little kitten was still in the park he was also in the exact same place he was scared to death so we took him in and love him dearly. He comes in and out and we joke that he is the bar tender at the party barn next door and sware we have seen him stumbling out like he was milk drunk lol. We also believe he might of gotten one of the barn waitresses preggo so now he is off to be TUTORED...shhh don't tell him the truth!

Changing My Name

Oh yes.. I did just break the cardinal rule, once you name your blog...leave it alone! I just couldn't... it didn't make sense, it wasn't me and your blog should reflect nothing but you, so I did it anyway :-) sorry blog police.
Smiles for Lemons it is and I LOVE IT!!

I know I'm not a true southerner I don't care I lived there until I was in 3rd grade and then again from 1994-2000, so call it what you want but I feel southern in my heart and I always will. I miss Atlanta dearly, it is a wonderful place with wonderful people with sweet tea that cannot be duplicated!!!
