~Thirty Minute Fridays with Amy~

Happy Friday all, hope you get to get out and do something fun. My Friday lunch with Amy turned out to be an hour today, maybe a week between our lunches is to long to catch up in a half hour :-)
I took my camera to get some cute pics of us together which never really happened because when I saw her youngest daughter had her little jewerly on and was ready to go to school well, she pretty much stole the show for sure, which is great I never mind taking pictures of kids and their puppies. So here are a couple sweet shots from today...

So stinkin cute thanks little miss Autumn for posing it up, I don't mind snapping away all day!

~Lorax~

If you haven't gotten a chance to take your kiddos to see the Lorax yet, it's a must!! Adorable movie with a good meaning. We started out for an evening at the park then realized downtown Greenville had the Lorax playing for $5 bucks, so they played at the park for a bit then we grabbed some snacks and ran into Greenville's quaint little old-fashioned theater. Such a great story, I have always been a Dr. Seuss fan but this is my favorite.

~Thirty Minute Fridays With Amy~

I always always try to keep in mind that life is short and we have to make the most of each precious day that we are here, as this is but a short journey. So it got me thinking about a dear friend that I don't get to see near enough so I text her about starting to hook up every Friday for a lunch date. So today was that day, it is always a wonderful time catching up, and just knowing we will always be there for each other no matter what. Friends come and go but this Chicka is a keeper.
She had a pretty funny story to tell me about her morning once I found out she was okay. She started her morning off making eggs in the skillet for her daughter and herself, meanwhile she shut her finger in the door and cut it really bad, (not stitches bad...but close) so while she had it over the sink washing away the blood she passed out, not once but twice (low pain tolerance or so she says, I don't think anyone that's had four kids has low pain tolerance) when she came to the second time there were eggs all over the floor the pan was knocked off the stove, her hand was burnt and her daughter was above her saying "are you trying to be funny mommy". I said you should be glad she was so calm and it didn't scare her to pieces. Luckily my sweet friends neighbor is a paramedic so he came over and checked her out.
Needless to say this girl does Mommyhood alone a lot of the times and she does it very well. She is a Military Mom and can get her housework done with her eyes closed, she is a role model to me and I adore her! Stayed tuned until next Friday as we will totally hook up again.

Sunny Days, Sweeping the Clouds Away

What a beautiful day here in the Burg. All I could think about during my quick little lunch break was getting home and putting the hammock up,chilling in the fresh air and soft breeze that seems way to early in the season to be enjoying. (No, I didn't even kick off  my heels I was in such a hurry). Kind of ironic weather here seeing how the night before so many were hit with such powerful, destructive storms. My Brother and his family's hometown of Branson, MO were hit pretty hard last night, such a scary night for all of them. I pray for the families there who have lost so much and I pray they are able to rebuild & rebound. I pray they are overwhelmed by support from their surrounding communities and that they can remain hopeful in a time where hope seems lost.

~It's Whats for Dinner~

It's dinner time, does that stress you out? If you live in my world it kinda does. We get home around 7 sometimes later and if I haven't planned ahead well then, it's thrown together and not always the best. It's a lot different then the way dinner was meant to be enjoyed. Those of you that are stay at home moms (although not sure how many of those are left out there), do you start dinner at 5? Do you plan out your menu for the week? Do you set your dinner table and all sit down together? I am trying to be a better Mom and make the time to go back to this lifestyle we had when kids were smaller. Funny how now that they are older and we are all busier with sports and after school stuff how we don't take the time to do this when in reality this is the most important times in a kid's life to be taking the time. As for us, we are going back to High/Low, it's a nice way to get your kids to talk about the high point and the low point of their day.
Hope everyone has a beautiful evening and really soaks in those dinner time moments and conversation..
